What's new in Zero — Week of May 25

Five things shipped last week, and the through-line is a steady upgrade across the surface. A new flagship model, easier top-ups, smoother chat threads, faster permission decisions, and a dedicated landing page for every artifact Zero can generate. Here's the tour.

Claude Opus 4.8 lands in VM0

Anthropic's newest flagship is now available in every VM0 agent. Claude Opus 4.8 brings stronger agentic coding, dynamic workflows that fan out hundreds of parallel subagents, and a 3× cheaper fast mode at the same regular price as Opus 4.7. It's the highest-scoring model Anthropic has shipped — top of SWE-bench Pro (69.2%), OSWorld-Verified (83.4%), MCP-Atlas (82.2%), and Humanity's Last Exam (57.9% with tools).

Open any agent's edit view and pick Claude Opus 4.8 from the Model dropdown. Existing orgs get it backfilled into your model policy automatically — no admin action needed.

For full benchmarks and pricing, the Claude Opus 4.8 model page has everything.

Buy credits without leaving Settings

When you're mid-task and an agent run is about to exhaust your balance, jumping out to Stripe to top up is the worst possible moment to break flow. Last week we fixed that.

Settings → Billing now has a new Buy credits section right below your plan card. Pick a pack, click Buy, and you're back in Zero in seconds. You can also enable auto-recharge so your agents never stop — when the balance drops below a threshold you set, credits are purchased automatically.

Credits cost the same as always: $1 per 1,000 credits, and top-up credits don't expire (unlike your monthly Pro or Team grant, which resets each cycle).

Chat threads got easier to live in

Two small changes that together make long chat sessions noticeably better.

A floating Scroll-to-bottom button appears in any thread whenever you scroll up. Tap it and you're back at the latest message — no more dragging the scrollbar through hundreds of tokens of agent output.

"Load more" in the sidebar. Your chat sidebar now ends with a Load more button instead of cutting off at the most recent threads. Older conversations are one click away, not buried in search.

Permission requests respond in real time

When an agent asks for permission to take a sensitive action — send a Slack message, write to Notion, charge a card — that request used to require a manual refresh to see the result. Two changes fixed that.

Permission cards refresh in real time. Approve a request from any tab, and every other open tab (web, desktop, phone) updates immediately. No more "did I approve that yet?" double-clicks.

Permission action blocks appear inline in chat. When the request comes in, it renders as a native action block right in the thread — Approve and Deny buttons available without leaving the conversation. The action runs the instant you click Approve.

A landing page for every artifact Zero generates

vm0.ai now has a dedicated showcase gallery for each kind of artifact Zero can produce. /presentation for polished decks. /report for written reports with charts and KPIs. /web-design — now a single-column layout with a more prominent Remix button — for landing pages and marketing sites. And /illustration for the full catalog of illustration styles Zero can render. Each gallery is browsable without an account: find a piece you like, click Remix, and Zero builds you your own version in minutes.

/presentation gallery — Mistral-Next research talk on cream paper

/report gallery — Recurring revenue trend with MRR + Net new MRR charts

/web-design gallery — Sprout warm-onboarding site with friendly mascot

/illustration gallery — Ink Storefront, Sunlit Gouache, Papernook style cards

The illustration register itself grew again last week with four new plates: Tiny Wanderer (Moebius-style bande-dessinée landscapes), Iberian Vignette (wobble ink with a burgundy anchor), Shadow Pop (flat-vector with offset silhouette shadows), and Ink Storefront (hand-drawn brush-pen storefronts with a friendly mascot out front). The register is at 31 plates today.

The video model behind Zero's built-in video generation just jumped to Seedance 2.0 — better motion quality and faster turnaround at the same credit cost. The piece walks through what changed and the kind of cinematic clips you can now ask for.

That's the week. The fastest way to see all of this in motion is to open any chat and ask, "what shipped last week?" — Zero will walk you through. More next week.
